Coloured Coins

The term “Coloured Coins” loosely describes a class of methods for representing and managing real world assets on top of a blockchain. It was originally proposed as an implementation to be built on top of the Bitcoin protocol but since the increase in popularity of Ethereum (ERC20) it has not come to fruition.

It was long thought impossible to maintain privacy and fungibility in a ‘coloured coin’ but this has now been successfully implemented on the Haven network.
